Tyler, the Creator is very thankful that his recent album, Don’t Tap the Glass, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. “Thank you to everyone who decided to check this out. Announcing this just two days prior, and it reaching number 1 so quickly, means a lot. Thank you. tell folks about it!” Tyler shared on his Instagram Story on Tuesday (July 29), along with his post about the album’s release. Don’t Tap the Glass ranked first on the all-genre albums chart dated Aug. 2, after moving 197,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending July 24, according to Luminate. The rapper announced on July 18 that the album would drop on an off-cycle Monday, July 21. Its Billboard 200 debut comes after only four days of activity in its first tracking week. (Luminate’s tracking week runs from Friday to Thursday, which is why most albums are released on Fridays.) Don’t Tap the Glass is Tyler, the Creator's second off-cycle album to debut at number one, following his eighth studio album, Chromakopia, last November. It is also the second consecutive off-cycle album to top the Billboard 200, after the Travis Scott-led Jackboys 2 album released last week on a Sunday.
